LAPLACE, LA – After three years of being a part of the team at Cypress-LaPlace, physical therapist Donnie Savoie has been promoted to Clinic Director.
Donnie joined Cypress during a time of tremendous growth at the LaPlace location and assisted Cypress founder Chris Cancienne in managing clinic operations during an expansion the addition of new services such as hand therapy and physical demands testing while maintaining superior patient care.
Donnie was born and raised in LaPlace and graduated from St. Charles Catholic High School where he played football and baseball. Donnie brought home the 2011 football State Championship as quarterback. In 2016, he graduated from Louisiana State University with a major in Kinesiology focusing on human movement science. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019 from the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Donnie is a member of both the APTA and LPTA and holds a Trigger Point Dry Needling certification. He desires to promote healthier, more active lifestyles throughout South Louisiana with a special interest in sports injuries and neurological rehabilitation.
“I am very excited, and honored, to step into this new role as Clinic Director of our LaPlace location. I credit much of my growth as a clinician, and as a person, to my time here at Cypress Physical Therapy. My only goal is to uphold the standard that has been set by this company since 2016, which is to provide excellent patient care to the great people of LaPlace and surrounding areas,” said Savoie.

I’ll still be around to support Donnie; but, his new role will allow me to provide extra support to our growing network of clinics,” said Cypress founder Christopher Cancienne.
Cypress Physical Therapy opened its first location in LaPlace, LA in 2016 and soon partnered with Dustin Roussel to open a clinic in Gramercy, LA less than one year later. Immediately before the pandemic, Cypress partnered with Jonathan Pecoraro to open a location in Hammond, LA and worked through the pandemic to open in February 2021, holding construction design and update meetings by Zoom. Last year, Cypress partnered with Phillip Richard to open its first location outside Louisiana in Orange, TX. In June, Cypress will open a clinic in Luling, LA with local partner, Patrick Hennessey.
