Tyler Hernandez was born and raised in New Orleans. Growing up on the West Bank, he attended Archbishop Shaw Highschool where he was a track & field and soccer athlete. Following a high school injury and a lifetime with a wheelchair-bound Uncle, Tyler attended Nicholls State University for Biology, Pre-Physical Therapy.
While working on entrance to PT school, Tyler was accepted into the Delgado PTA program and graduated and received his PTA licence in 2017. Tyler spent the next 7 years working in the acute and skilled nursing settings with orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric patients. Life had it's own plans and instead of returning for his DPT, Tyler got married in 2022 and has 2 wonderful boys, his Schnauzer Duke, and his cat Dingo.
As a clinician, Tyler values time spent with patients and strives to help everyone return to their preferred lifestyle. He additionally enjoys preparing the next generation of therapists as a credentialed clinical instructor. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and attending Saints and Pelicans games.
