5 Tips to Make Traveling With Back Pain Bearable

Few things can ruin a vacation faster than back pain. Whether you are traveling by car or plane here are some great back-saving tips to make traveling bearable.

1. Motion is Lotion For Your Body

When you are traveling be sure to take breaks to walk around, stretch, and do little exercises in your seat. This can be as simple as walking to the bathroom on an airplane, taking a driving break, and stopping somewhere to stretch your body.

2. Use a Neck Pillow

As simple as it sounds, they really do help keep your spine in alignment, reducing stress on your back.

By removing these toxins, you can reduce pain and restore harmony in the body.

3. Posture

Whether you are sitting or standing, consider your posture. If you are driving and it is safe to do so, use the cruise control to keep both feet flat on the car floor. If you are on a plane, consider seats with more leg room and if your feet do not touch the floor, consider using something flat as a footrest.

4. Support Your Lower Back

If you do not have access to a lumbar support cushion, use a small jacket, pillow, or blanket and roll it up to add support for your lower back that airplanes and car seats lack.

5. Consider Bringing Medication

Using over-the-counter pain relievers an hour before you travel may help reduce pain during the flight or drive.
