Email: Tanyia@cypresspt.netTanyia was born and raised in Opelousas, La. She graduated from Opelousas High School in 1985 and then attended Southern University in 1985 to 1988 before being accepted to LSUMC - NOLA for PT school. Tanyia graduated in 1990 with a BS in Physical Therapy.
Tanyia lives in Laplace and has been married to Mike Tregre for 32 years. She developed a passion for working with the Geriatric population early in my career. Tanyia has spent 10 years in long term care rehab and then 17 years in home health which has helped her to gain a solid skill set for helping senior citizens regain functional independence. As a new member of the Cypress Physical Therapy team, Tanyia’s goal is to use my knowledge for treatment of diagnosis such as Stoke, Parkinson's Disease, arthritis total joint replacement, balance issues and general debility due to medical issues in order to be an asset to the Laplace Clinic.
Tanyia’s hobbies include walking, bike riding, swimming for fun, and palates. Her favorite vacations spots are on a beach under an umbrella and snow skiing (only on the green trails).
Fun fact about Tanyia is she is married to the Sheriff of St. John Parish. So when her patients realize this, questions about arthritis, back pain and hip surgeries typically turn into "why is the interstate shut down?" or "is it really against the law to do that?"
